We present here a new venture in the Down Ancient Trails series, where you get to learn the basics of prehistoric archaeolgy and gain a perspective on past cultures, fascinating sites and amazing personalities. Join our in-house prehistorians and visiting scholars sharing their views on prehistory, participate in assignments, team-work, activities and more, and gain an appreciation of the earliest prehistoric populations of South Asia. We encourage interdisciplinary participants. This is a basic introductory course (level 1) on South Asian prehistory

•Open only to those who register for the course, but remains an optional module
•In-person workshop at the SCHE campus, Chennai
•Introduction to theoretical concepts in experimental archaeology
•Experimental archaeological approaches in the manufacture of stone and bone tools, pottery, basketry and more… with demonstrations and practicals
Information
The course comprises a total of 44 lectures (66 hours) which will be delivered by SCHE researchers and by invited guest lecturers.
The course comprises lectures, assignments, team-work and discussions with pre-circulated reading lists and on-line resources
Participants will be given certificates for successful completion of the course based on attendance, assignment completion, team-work, and class participation in discussion and activities.
